Join us for an evening of poetry, film and community gathering, curated by Ort Gallery in collaboration with Falasteen on Film at The Edge, B12 0QH
Hayati Open Mic returns in its second collaboration with Falasteen on Film to explore the art and politics of spoken word, music and images. This special evening features a selection of four short films curated by Falasteen on Film, highlighting three Palestinian works alongside a piece on freedom. The short films explore themes of grief, resistance, remembrance and community. Titles include:
• a night we held between (Noor Abed, 2021)
• Night (Ahmed Saleh,2021)
• The Poem We Sang (Annie Sakkab, 2024)
• ęmí: freedomsong (Rohan Ayinde, Zarina Rossheart and Tayo Rapoport, 2025)
We will also be joined by the creators of 'emi: freedomsong', Rohan, Zarina, and Tayo, for the evening. This event will feature special headline performances by some very exciting poets and performers, including Rohan and more (TBA).

Tickets
We have a three tiered ticket system with Standard tickets priced at £7.50 (plus eventbrite fee) / £10 on the door. Tickets include a warm meal (plant based and gluten free options available). Please feel free to bring your own non-alcoholic drinks.
