RestFest Film Festival is honoured to present the World Premiere of Sop's newest work: 'We Year'

About the Film: A mixed media, moving-image (love) letter to others with energy-limiting conditions. Using 16mm direct animation, archival & new footage, poetic voiceover, and an ethereal soundscape, artist Sop immerses the viewer into the both isolating and unifying experience of a chronic illness flare during a hot summer indoors.

This event is part of the larger We Year Programme, a series of interdisciplinary events and workshops inspired by and responding to the themes of the film We Year by Sop, held by various crip and disabled friends and allies, including RestFest, The Remote Body, as well as Resting Up Collective x Ort Gallery via the Crip Resistance II programme.

Wellbeing messages

by Sabba Khan

Sabba Khan and Balsall Heath women created these beautiful wellbeing messages.

The 6 artworks promote physical and mental wellbeing in the home whilst our community recovers from the effects of the global pandemic.

We want you to know that there are other people isolating and feeling alone. The artworks are designed to sit in different areas of your home as daily reminders to look after your mental health.
